ELECTRICAL WORK

We have successfully completed the installation of both LT and HT lines, including a 25kV transformer for permanent power supply, at more than 50 sites. We follow the practice below before commencing any site execution:

Site Preparation: Before installing a transformer, we do the site preperation. This includes ensuring that the installation site is level, stable, and free from any obstructions. Adequate space should be allocated for the transformer and associated equipment, such as switchgear and control panels.

Foundation Construction: A sturdy foundation is essential to support the weight of the transformer and withstand mechanical stresses. The foundation is typically constructed using concrete and reinforced with steel bars to provide stability and durability. The dimensions and specifications of the foundation are determined based on the size and weight of the transformer.

Transport and Rigging: Transporting the transformer to the installation site requires careful planning and coordination. Depending on the size and weight of the transformer, specialized equipment such as cranes or forklifts may be needed to lift and position it onto the foundation. Rigging professionals ensure that the lifting process is carried out safely and securely.

Electrical Connections: Once the transformer is in place, electrical connections are made to integrate it into the power distribution system. This includes connecting the primary and secondary windings of the transformer to the high tension (HT) and low tension (LT) electrical circuits, respectively. Proper insulation and termination techniques are employed to ensure electrical safety and reliability.

Grounding and Bonding: Grounding and bonding systems are installed to provide protection against electrical faults and ensure system reliability. Grounding electrodes are driven into the ground and connected to the transformer's grounding terminals, while bonding conductors establish electrical continuity between various metallic components to prevent potential differences.

Testing and Commissioning: After installation, the transformer undergoes rigorous testing to verify its performance and compliance with specifications and standards. This includes conducting electrical tests such as insulation resistance, polarity, and ratio tests, as well as functional tests to confirm proper operation. Once testing is complete, the transformer is commissioned for service.

Safety Measures: Throughout the installation process, strict adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of personnel. Safety measures such as personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard assessments are implemented to mitigate risks associated with working with high voltage equipment.
